Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Facilities Maintenance Engineer
to join our team in a dynamic manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the operational efficiency and maintenance of plant equipment, with a focus on CNC machinery, while also providing support in supervising skilled trades personnel. This role offers opportunities for off-shift work, occasional weekends, and the possibility of overtime. Candidates with experience in UAW environments and strong schematic reading abilities are preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of machinery and equipment, with a focus on CNC machines.
- Read and interpret schematics to diagnose and resolve issues in electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
- Provide maintenance supervision and support to skilled trades personnel, ensuring efficient workflow and operational safety.
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks to minimize downtime in a high-production manufacturing environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement improvements to equipment reliability and performance.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and protocols while promoting a safe working environment.
- Assist in managing inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies.
- Work with minimal supervision during off-shifts and weekends as needed to support the facilitys operational needs.
Key Qualifications:
- CNC machine maintenance experience is required.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics for complex machinery and facility systems.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is required; experience in a UAW environment is a plus.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently during off-shifts (2nd or 3rd shift) and occasional weekends (approximately 2 weekends/month).
- Must be local or willing to relocate to the area, as local candidates are highly preferred.
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed to meet production demands.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to lead and collaborate with skilled trades personnel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Formal technical training or certifications in facilities maintenance, engineering, or a related field.
- Previous experience supervising or managing maintenance teams in a production environment.
