3rd Shift Production Supervisor

Shift Hours: 10:00 PM 6:30 AM, with potential for variable start times and overtime. Expectation is for employees to arrive slightly before and stay briefly after shifts, as needed.

Position Overview: This onsite role requires a Production Supervisor with experience in a manufacturing and union environment. The supervisor is responsible for achieving departmental goals, overseeing a team of semi-skilled to highly skilled production and maintenance employees, and ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and cost standards. As the first point of contact between production employees and management, this role also represents the company's interests on the shop floor.

Key Responsibilities:

• Foster a positive work environment, emphasizing open communication, feedback, and guidance.
• Ensure all personnel receive appropriate training, work instructions, and tools for successful performance.
• Oversee production activities, troubleshoot issues, and maintain quality standards.
• Administer employee policies, handle disciplinary actions, and address complaints to maintain adherence to company standards.
• Set priorities based on production schedules, manage daily assignments, and assign overtime as required to meet delivery deadlines.
• Plan equipment and facility maintenance to optimize capital asset utilization.
• Track and control department budget to meet operational targets.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
• Enforce safety programs and maintain housekeeping standards.

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Experience: 5+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• Skills: Proficiency with SAP and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), strong communication and leadership abilities, and experience in unionized settings.
