Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated 3rd Shift Manufacturing Operations Supervisor to lead Backhoe Operations on 3rd shift at our Dubuque facility. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for managing safety, quality, delivery, and productivity metrics while driving team engagement and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and guide production teams to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency goals
  • Promote a positive, engaging, and inclusive work environment through consistent communication and recognition
  • Ensure personnel are properly trained, equipped, and supported to execute their tasks successfully
  • Champion workplace safety through proactive risk assessments, corrective actions, and a culture of accountability
  • Lead daily staffing decisions and resource adjustments to meet production demands
  • Monitor production quality to ensure products meet or exceed standards
  • Drive support for key initiatives such as 5S, lean manufacturing, and budget adherence

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in a unionized manufacturing environment
  • 1+ year of experience in manufacturing and quality management principles and practices
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to make effective decisions under pressure
  • Experience addressing employee performance, enforcing policies, and conducting crucial conversations
  • Collaborative mindset with a history of cross-functional coordination
  • Willingness to work overtime, including weekends, as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous leadership experience in a union environment
  • Familiarity with production control systems and incentive pay structures (e.g., CIPP)
  • Experience with lean manufacturing, shop floor operations, or continuous improvement initiatives
  • Proficiency in tools such as SAP, Power BI, Excel, SharePoint
  • Background in Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, or Quality

Education:
Bachelors degree in Engineering, Technology, Operations, Business, or a related field preferred or equivalent work experience.

Schedule:

  • 3rd Shift: 10:30 PM 6:00 AM
  • Some Saturdays required
