About the job Supply Management Specialist
Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for supply chain management and procurement? We are seeking a Supply Management Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a critical part in executing the Order Fulfillment Process (OFP) while driving supplier performance, cost efficiency, and continuous improvement. This hybrid position requires four days per week onsite, with occasional offsite travel within Dubuque to meet with local vendors (within 10 miles of the facility).
Key Responsibilities
- Supplier Selection & Sourcing: Analyze quotations and select suppliers based on quality, cost, process capability, lead time, and stability.
- Procurement & Order Fulfillment: Manage part sourcing activities and expedite orders as necessary to ensure timely delivery.
- Engineering Change Management (ECM): Support design changes and product improvements while minimizing costs.
- Issue Resolution: Address and resolve shipping, receiving, invoicing, and payment issues to maintain accurate and timely transactions.
- Supplier Performance Management: Drive continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers, ensuring optimal cost and performance through structured evaluation processes.
- Relationship Management: Act as a key liaison between suppliers and internal teams, resolving supplier-related issues while fostering strong partnerships.
What You Need to Succeed
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of supply chain management, order fulfillment, and procurement processes.
- Experience in negotiation and conflict resolution.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with supply chain software (SAP preferred).
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in areas such as supplier integration, strategic supply management, logistics, or forecasting.
- Hands-on experience with SAP, Business Objects, and Business Warehouse reporting systems.
- Prior buyer or purchasing experience with external suppliers.
Education & Experience
- A bachelors degree in Business, Supply Management, Logistics, Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or Technology is preferred.
- Equivalent experience in a related field will also be considered.
- Recent graduates with a degree in Supply Management or Logistics are encouraged to apply.
