Requirements

  • Engineering Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 10 years experience in project management
  • Proven affinity with civil construction projects, ideally infrastructure and ports
  • Recognized construction or design qualification (or similar experience)
  • Confident and capable individual with strong client focus, able to operate and grow a performing team
  • A leading example in compliance and ethics
  • Strong track record in delivering projects in a fast moving and challenging environment
  • Good grasp of IT, particularly Excel and Word

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the delivery of the project from initial concept through close out, including budgeting, planning, contract negotiation, permitting, and construction.
  • Defining project elements and scope, develops bid documents and providing direct project management oversight by working with consultants, staff, tenants, and other project stakeholders.
  • Approve conceptual designs and Front-end Engineering and Design (FEED) packages based on project requirements
  • Devise process workflows to execute and approve system designs and engineering calculations
  • Approve detailed design including schematics, technical specifications, test plans, and material requisition based on feasibility and alignment with project requirements
  • Evaluate performance specification analyses on components and systems
  • Drive cross-team collaboration for resolution of design and engineering gaps
  • Endorse industry standards and international conventions in drawings
  • Define areas of focus that can be analysed using advanced methods to support research and development (R&D) in design processes
  • Provide leadership and guidance for analysis of both internal and external data
  • Devise methods to leverage advanced analytical findings for strategic decision-making
  • Formulate strategies to integrate social, environmental and economic considerations in the design process
  • Endorse environmental impact assessment and lifecycle cost and benefits analyses for products and systems
  • Endorse environmentally and economically preferable and designs and solutions
  • Establish innovative solutions for waste reduction and resource optimisation through sustainable designs
  • Drive talent recruitment and development for the function in alignment with organisational strategy
  • Manage the function's financial inflow and outflow against allocated budgets and forecasts
  • Validate risk management plans and risk controls to ensure function's compliance with organisation's risk management framework
  • Manage continuous improvement and change management initiatives for time, cost and quality improvements
