Director of Business Development (DBD) – New Business Hunter

Location: EST or CST Region (30% Travel)
Compensation: Base Salary up to $100,000 + Uncapped Commission

We're looking for a driven business development professional who thrives on creating opportunities, opening doors, and winning new business. This is a true hunter role—not account management and not dependent on inbound leads.

In this role, you'll sell transportation, managed logistics, and 4PL solutions to manufacturing and distribution companies, owning the entire sales process from prospecting through closing and onboarding.

What You'll Do

  • Prospect and develop new business opportunities from the ground up
  • Build and manage your own sales pipeline
  • Conduct consultative discovery meetings with Director, VP, and C-level decision-makers
  • Identify operational challenges and develop customized logistics and supply chain solutions
  • Manage opportunities through the full sales cycle
  • Negotiate and close new business agreements
  • Partner with operations teams to ensure successful customer onboarding

What We're Looking For

  • 3–5+ years of successful B2B sales experience
  • Proven hunter mentality with strong outbound prospecting skills
  • Experience managing a full sales cycle
  • Ability to clearly articulate your sales process and how you win business
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Executive presence and confidence engaging senior decision-makers
  • Competitive, self-motivated, and results-driven
  • Stable career history with demonstrated sales success

Preferred Background

  • Experience selling transportation, logistics, supply chain, freight brokerage, 3PL, 4PL, managed transportation, or related B2B solutions
  • Ability to identify customer challenges and translate them into business opportunities
  • Consultative selling approach focused on delivering value
