Crane Operator

Job Purpose:

The Overhead Crane Operator is responsible for operating overhead cranes to lift, move, and position heavy materials and products in factories. This role requires a focus on safety, precision, and efficiency to ensure the proper handling and transportation of materials while minimizing risks.

Responsibilities:

• Operate overhead cranes to lift, move, and position loads as directed.
• Ensure proper rigging and secure materials for safe transport
• Load and unload trucks, or other transportation methods.
• Identify and report any safety hazards or risks in the work area
• Coordinate with factory staff, supervisors, to ensure smooth operations.
• Enforce safety protocol and ensure that all the team member adhere to safety regulations and best practices

Educational Requirements:

Mandatory:

• Certified Crane Operator license
• Certification in rigging or material handling is a plus
• High communication skills

Experience:

Mandatory:

• Minimum 5 years experience in loading and logistics

• Proficiency in operating overhead cranes, hoists, and related tools.
• Strong understanding of load capacities, weight distribution, and lifting techniques.
• Train and mentor new staff and apprentices on techniques and safety practices
• Good communication skills
