About the job BIM Electrical Engineer

Job Purpose:

  • The BIM Electrical Engineer will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of the (BIM) processes and workflows related to electrical systems in the projects.
  • The role requires extensive knowledge of electrical engineering principles, BIM software, and project coordination to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of electrical designs.

Responsibilities:

  • Design & Drafting:
  • Develop and review electrical designs, layouts, and schematics using
  • BIM software (Revit, AutoCAD).
  • Ensure designs meet industry standards, local codes, and client specifications.

  • BIM Coordination:
  • Ensuring that all electrical components are accurately modeled and integrated into the BIM system.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (architectural, structural, mechanical) to resolve clashes and ensure seamless integration of electrical systems within the BIM model.
  • Quality Control & Assurance:
  • Conduct regular quality checks and reviews of the electrical BIM models to ensure accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
  • Identify and mitigate risks early in the design phase to minimize changes during construction.

Educational Requirements:

Mandatory:

Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering.

Experience:

Mandatory:


  • 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering with at least 2 years in BIM modeling and coordination.

Skills:

  • Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and other BIM-related software.
  • Familiarity with electrical systems design, such as lighting, power distribution, and fire alarm systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and manage projects.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience in large-scale commercial, industrial, or residential projects.
  • Professional certification in BIM (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional).
  • PMP and management certificates is a plus
  • Knowledge of additional BIM-related tools such as Dynamo, BIM 360 is a plus.
