BIM Electrical Modeler

Job Purpose:

• The BIM Electrical Modeler will be responsible for creating and maintaining accurate 3D models for electrical systems within a BIM environment.
• The role involves collaborating with engineers, architects, and other professionals to design, model, and integrate electrical components.
• The ideal candidate will have proficiency in electrical modeling software and a strong understanding of electrical systems.

Responsibilities:

• BIM Electrical Modeling:
• Create, modify, and update 3D electrical models (using Revit, AutoCAD, or other BIM software) for building projects, ensuring accurate representation of electrical systems such as lighting, power distribution, data, and security systems.
• Ensure all electrical elements are properly integrated into the pod model in coordination with other disciplines (architectural, structural, mechanical).
• Creating all electrical Revit families as per approved material submittal.

• Coordination & Clash Detection: I
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure that electrical systems are correctly coordinated within the BIM model.
• Perform clash detection and resolve any conflicts between electrical systems and other
• Pod systems.

• Drawing & Documentation:
• Prepare detailed drawings and diagrams from the 3D models, including layouts, schematics, and wiring diagrams
• Generate and maintain BIM documentation, such as schedules, reports, and material lists, based on the electrical model.

• Collaboration & Support:
• Collaborate with electrical engineers, architects, contractors, and other team members to ensure the electrical model meets project requirements.
• Ensure that all design changes are reflected in the model, drawings, and documentation.

• Software & Tools Management:
• Utilize BIM tools and software (such as Revit, AutoCAD MEP, Navisworks) to produce accurate and efficient electrical models.

Educational Requirements:

Mandatory:Electrical drafting Diploma.

Experience:

Mandatory:

• +7 years of experience in BIM modeling, with a focus on electrical systems, in the construction or engineering industry.

Desirable:

• Familiarity with electrical systems design and knowledge of electrical components such as lighting, power distribution, and fire alarms is a plus.

Skills:

• Proficient in using BIM software, especially Revit and AutoCAD, for electrical modeling.
• Creating all electrical Revit families as per approved material submittal.
• Knowledge of electrical systems and their integration into BIM.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical design drawings, specifications, and schematics.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in model creation and documentation.
• Experience working on large-scale commercial, industrial, or residential projects
• Experience with additional BIM tools such as Navisworks, BIM 360, or Dynamo is a plus.
