About the job BIM Mechanical Engineer
Job Purpose:
- The BIM Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of the (BIM) processes and workflows related to mechanical systems in the projects.
- The role requires extensive knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, BIM software, and project coordination to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of mechanical designs.
Responsibilities:
- Design & Drafting:
- Develop and review mechanical designs, layouts, and schematics using
- BIM software (Revit, AutoCAD).
- Ensure designs meet industry standards, local codes, and client specifications.
- BIM Coordination:
- Ensuring that all mechanical components are accurately modeled and integrated into the BIM system.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (architectural, structural, electrical) to resolve clashes and ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems within the BIM model.
- Quality Control & Assurance:
- Conduct regular quality checks and reviews of the mechanical BIM models to ensure accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
- Identify and mitigate risks early in the design phase to minimize changes during construction.
Educational Requirements:
Mandatory:
- Bachelors degree in mechanical Engineering.
Experience:
Mandatory:
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering with at least 2 years in BIM modeling and coordination.
Skills:
- Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and other BIM-related software.
- Familiarity with mechanical systems design, such as Drainage, Domestic water, HVAC, and fire Protection systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and manage projects.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience in large-scale commercial, industrial, or residential projects.
- Professional certification in BIM (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional).
- PMP and management certificates is a plus
- Knowledge of additional BIM-related tools such as Dynamo, BIM 360 is a plus.
