About the job QC Welding Inspector

Job Purpose:

To ensure the quality and safety of welded joints and to ensure that welded products meet the requirements of applicable quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect welds to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.

  • Identify and document welding defects.

  • Recommend corrective actions for welding defects.

  • Manage and oversee welding inspection programs.

  • Train welders on welding procedures and inspection techniques.

  • Prepare and maintain accurate welding inspection records.

  • Perform inspections as per ITP and customer requirements.

  • Maintain WPQT and WPS qualifications.

  • Conduct material inspections.

  • Identify and mitigate HSE risks associated with welding and inspection activities.

Educational Requirements:

MandatoryDesirableDiploma in Associate Engineering (Mechanical or equivalent)CBT approvedAWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or equivalentASNT Level II Certified

Experience:

Mandatory

5+ years in structural steel 

Fit-up and welding inspection experience

Knowledge of welding codes and standards

Skills:

  • Strong command of English (speaking, writing, reporting)

  • Ability to work under pressure
