MEP QC Inspector
About the job MEP QC Inspector
Job Purpose:
Ensuring quality control of various stages of plumbing, electrical & mechanical activities, workflows, processes, production activities and MEP tests comply with requirements. Developing corrective actions, solutions, and improvements. Attend all MEP inspections with client / contractor representatives.
Responsibilities:
- He will be responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of project requirements related to MEP works for all the phases of production activities by conducting inspections and tests.
- He will be responsible for inspecting materials & equipment to ensure compliance with specification and requirements. He will;
Inspection and Quality Assurance
- Conduct inspections and quality control checks at various stages of production to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and industry standards.
- Organize MEP related tests in accordance with project specification and industry standards
- Make sure of the latest revision of fabrication / shop drawings with the production and engineering team for execution.
- Inspect the Factory / Site Executions as per the approved ITP & Method Statement and ensure that all the items on the checklist verified.
- Review production drawing and scope of work, if required, raise RFI for clarification.
- Verify that materials, equipment, and workmanship meet established quality standards and project specification.
- Inspect all the receiving materials in factory warehouse or on site based on the approved material submittals and specifications.
- Stop the factory / site activity if the Works are not carried out as per requirements or approved Method statements.
- Issue the Nonconformance Reports to the works against the deficiency.
- Conduct 3rd party testing and inspections, if required.
- Document inspection results, deficiencies, deviations, and non-conformities, and report them to QA/QC Manager on daily and weekly basis.
- Ensure that all the deficiencies are properly recorded, and corrective action taken accordingly.
- Collaborate with production / site teams to address and resolve quality-related issues promptly.
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of all inspections, tests, and quality control activities.
- Take the Work Progress photographs on Daily / Weekly / Monthly basis and record them.
- Generate WIR, MIR and related documentation, ensuring they are complete, clear, and properly archived. Report all the Non-conformance Notice to QA/QC Manager.
- Record all the Test carried out by the Independent Laboratory on construction material.
- Collaborate with the QA/QC Manager to prepare and submit quality reports to clients as required.
- Track and monitor the status of corrective actions to address identified non-conformities.
- Update quality trackers, log sheets, register and EDMS.
- Keep and maintain file and folders (hard copies).
Training and Support
- Provide support to production personnel to ensure they understand and adhere to quality standards and procedures.
- Collaborate with QA/QC Team in conducting training sessions and workshops on quality-related topics.
- Attend weekly and monthly meetings
Educational Requirements:
Mandatory:
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Desirable:
- Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering
Experience:
Mandatory:
- Minimum 3 to 5 years experience in the field of quality control as MEP Inspector.
Desirable:
- Experience in Pre-fabrication / Modular industry.
Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of MEP testing procedures.
- Strong communication and reporting skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently
- Ability to work long hours during urgent work situation
- Strong knowledge of production / construction materials, methods and quality control procedures
- Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (e.g NFPA, SMACNA, SBC, ASME)
- Ability to read and understand drawings
- Proficiency in using MS Suite
- Oracle Aconex experience will be preferable.
- Proficiency in English Language
