About the job QC Painting Inspector
Job Purpose:
To ensure that all coating and painting activities meet the required specifications and client standards through detailed inspection, documentation, and quality assurance processes.
Responsibilities:
Review and verify compatibility of the specified paint systems.
Initiate qualification processes for Blasters and Painters for client approval.
Review painting-related method statements and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
Monitor and record environmental conditions, including air temperature, dew point, and relative humidity.
Conduct inspections for surface preparation before coating application.
Perform visual inspections, including WFT (Wet Film Thickness) and DFT (Dry Film Thickness), using appropriate inspection tools.
Prepare inspection reports, internal NCRs, and related QA documentation.
Ensure all QA/QC prerequisites are in place before application begins.
Submit inspection requests to clients and attend their quality inspections.
Ensure calibration and validation of blasting/painting equipment and inspection tools.
Comply with all statutory and contractual requirements for coating works.
Ensure blasting and painting operations are executed in full HSE compliance throughout all stages.
Educational Requirements:
Mandatory
Diploma in Associate Engineering (Mechanical or equivalent)
NACE Level 2 Certification or equivalent
Desirable
CBT Approved
NACE Level 2 Certification or equivalent
Experience:
Mandatory
5+ years in structural steel industry
Knowledge of surface preparation and coating codes & standards
Skills:

Fluent English communication skills (speaking, writing, reporting)

Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple inspection points
