Job Purpose:

  • The BIM Structural Engineer will be responsible for creating (BIM) models and supporting the implementation and documentation efforts across various project phases using tools such as Revit and Navisworks.
  • Extensive knowledge of Revit software is a Must.
  • The role requires a solid understanding of Steel design and its principles.
  • The role requires a solid understanding of construction processes and Execution standards to ensure the accuracy, efficiency, and quality of Structural drawings and models

Responsibilities:

  • Design & Drafting:
  • Develop and review Structural designs, layouts, and schematics using BIM software (Revit, AutoCAD).
  • Ensure that the structure is stable using analysis software.
  • Ensure designs meet industry standards, local codes, and client specifications.
  • BIM Coordination & Management:
  • Ensure that all components are accurately modeled and integrated into the BIM system.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (electrical, Architectural, mechanical) to resolve clashes and ensure seamless integration of Structural systems within the BIM model.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards such as ISO 19650 and company-specific BIM protocols.

  • Quality Control & Assurance:
  • Conduct regular quality checks and reviews of the Structural BIM models to ensure accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
  • Identify and mitigate risks early in the design phase to minimize changes during construction.

  • Leadership:
  • Lead and train BIM modelers.
  • Revise on Structural drawings and Models.
  • Ensure that the required processes and best practices are applied.

Educational Requirements:

Mandatory:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Structural Engineering

Experience:

Mandatory:


  • 5+ years of experience in Structural engineering (Preferably steel) with at least 3 years in BIM modeling and coordination.

Skills:

  • Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and other BIM-related software.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and manage projects.
  • Experience in construction firms if preferable.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience in Steel projects.
  • Experience in writing clear RFIs.
  • Professional certification in BIM (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional).
  • Familiarity Saudi Code for building standards is a plus.
  • Knowledge of additional BIM-related tools such as Dynamo, BIM 360 is a plus.
