Our client specializes in building and acquiring vertical market software companies that provide mission-critical solutions in their respective industry or niche.

Unlike private equity and VC firms, we do not have a pre-defined investment horizon and look to buy, hold and create value for the long-term, in partnership with the existing management team. What Your Day Will Look Like
- Conduct pre-acquisition due diligence/investment research
- Build financial models and analyze the unit economics of a software business
- Prepare investment memos
- Prepare questions and participate in management interviews to understand the targets
- Support the Associates, Directors, and Investment Partners in managing the due diligence process and help prepare for investment committee meeting
- Help establish the post-merger playbook and handoff
About You
- Successful completion of a BComm in Finance or Accounting
- Business Development experience with excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to carry on high-level, professional conversations with business owners and executive
- 1 to 2 years experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, asset management, investment research and/or capital markets setting
- Completion or progression toward CFA or other professional designation an asset
- Strong understanding of software business models and experience in analyzing technology companies an asset
- Experience in the investment process and well-versed in financial statement analysis
- Ability to create a working financial model using data provided by the target to discern the return potential of acquisitions
- Strong quantitative background and analytical skills and strong knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
- Team player
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to carry high-level, professional conversations with business owners and executives
- Must be a Canadian Citizens or a Permanent Resident
