Position Summary

• The Journeyman is responsible for performing electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs in a safe and efficient manner.

Non Negotiables

• Candidate must be eligible to work on a DISA site.
• Completion of a thorough DISA background investigation.
• A DISA hair-follicle based drug screening (six-month detection).
• A valid TWIC.
• TDLR Journeyman or Apprentice license required.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe work site and work environment by adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
• Conducts regular safety checks and ensures that all team members are following safety guidelines.
• Manages all production tasks for oneself and assigned helpers or apprentices, ensuring timely and quality completion of work.
• Oversees wire pulling, conduit installation, and other electrical tasks, ensuring adherence to project specifications.
• Works independently with little to no guidance, demonstrating self-management and problem-solving skills.
• Effectively manages the workflow and productivity of oneself and the assigned helper/apprentice.
• Provides updates on project status and communicates any issues that may impact timelines or quality.
• Contacts customers to schedule jobs and oversees work load of crews.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• This role has indirect supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required or Trade/Technical/Business School.
• 3-5 years of experience in electrical installation and maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of electrical codes, safety regulations, and processes with governing entities.
• Ability to work independently and manage a team effectively.
• Proficient in reading blueprints and job specifications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with team members and management.

Preferred Qualifications

• OSHA 10/30 certified.
• NFPA Hot Work trained.
• First aid certified.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $29.00 per hour

Expected hours: 50 – 70 per week
