Full job description
Position Summary
- The Journeyman is responsible for performing electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs in a safe and efficient manner.
Non Negotiables
- Candidate must be eligible to work on a DISA site.
- Completion of a thorough DISA background investigation.
- A DISA hair-follicle based drug screening (six-month detection).
- A valid TWIC.
- TDLR Journeyman or Apprentice license required.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains a safe work site and work environment by adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
- Conducts regular safety checks and ensures that all team members are following safety guidelines.
- Manages all production tasks for oneself and assigned helpers or apprentices, ensuring timely and quality completion of work.
- Oversees wire pulling, conduit installation, and other electrical tasks, ensuring adherence to project specifications.
- Works independently with little to no guidance, demonstrating self-management and problem-solving skills.
- Effectively manages the workflow and productivity of oneself and the assigned helper/apprentice.
- Provides updates on project status and communicates any issues that may impact timelines or quality.
- Contacts customers to schedule jobs and oversees work load of crews.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- This role has indirect supervisory responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required or Trade/Technical/Business School.
- 3-5 years of experience in electrical installation and maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes, safety regulations, and processes with governing entities.
- Ability to work independently and manage a team effectively.
- Proficient in reading blueprints and job specifications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with team members and management.
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 10/30 certified.
- NFPA Hot Work trained.
- First aid certified.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $29.00 per hour
Expected hours: 50 – 70 per week
