Job Description
We are looking for a talented WordPress Developer to join our dynamic team. This role will primarily focus on maintaining our WordPress website and building a custom plugin to integrate with Roomstay’s booking platform. You will ensure the website runs smoothly day-to-day and collaborate closely with our product and engineering teams to enhance the site’s functionality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update the Roomstay.io WordPress website, ensuring optimal performance, security, and stability.
- Design, develop, and implement a custom WordPress plugin to support Roomstay’s booking engine and other business needs.
Troubleshoot and resolve any website issues promptly.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to integrate APIs and third-party services.
- Regularly review and improve site performance, addressing issues like loading speeds, SEO, and user experience.
- Ensure website compliance with accessibility standards and best practices.
- Manage website backups, security protocols, and updates to core WordPress, themes, and plugins.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a WordPress Developer, with strong knowledge of core WordPress, themes, and plugins.
Experience building and maintaining custom WordPress plugins.
- Proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
Familiarity with API integrations and third-party services.
- Understanding of website performance optimization and security best practices.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, while collaborating with a distributed team.
Nice-to-Have:
Experience working on websites for SaaS or e-commerce platforms.
Knowledge of SEO best practices.
- Experience with WP-CLI or similar tools for managing WordPress from the command line.
