My client, one of the world's largest supplier of global solutions within transport and logistics, is seeking a Director of Operations to drive success across a vast geographic region. Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement regional strategies to align with enterprise goals, ensuring targets are met while addressing local needs.
  • Financial Oversight: Plan, budget, and achieve regional financial targets. Drive cost control and margin improvement initiatives.
  • Operational Excellence: Standardise practices, assess risks, and review key metrics to ensure top-tier performance across core services.
  • Team Development: Foster a work environment that promotes passion, teamwork, and agility. Mentor emerging talent and create a culture of engagement and growth.
  • Client Relationships: Build and sustain long-term client relationships. Partner with clients to troubleshoot issues and support sales initiatives.
  • Start-Up Execution: Plan and execute start-up facilities for new business ventures, ensuring smooth operations from day one.
  • Collaborative Environment: Work within a complex matrixed organisation, collaborating with HR, Sales, Finance, and other departments.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business, Logistics, or equivalent. 
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years in logistics operations management with at least 5 years in a regional leadership role.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office applications and industry WMS knowledge.
  • Leadership Abilities: Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to motivate, inspire, and lead high-performing teams.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Innovative thinker with the ability to challenge existing processes and develop effective solutions.
  • Client-Centric Focus: Experience in managing operations metrics and client relations within a client-centric environment.
  • Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of budgeting, financial reviews, and cost variance analysis.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to occasionally handle/finger, sit, bend, and frequently walk or stand.
  • Capable of lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling 21-50 pounds, and reaching above shoulder level, outward, squatting, or kneeling.
