We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the planning and preparatory work for a large-scale technology modernization initiative. This role is focused exclusively on laying the groundwork for future execution, ensuring that all strategic, technical, and organizational elements are aligned for successful delivery in the coming years.
The initiative aims to modernize a legacy application portfolio by transitioning to a secure, cloud-based, and supportable environment. Key focus areas include reducing technical debt, improving service delivery, and aligning with broader sustainability and digital transformation objectives.
This engagement is centered on the planning phase of the program and will not include implementation activities. The Project Manager will be responsible for:
- Developing comprehensive project plans and governance frameworks
- Working with the technical ream to conducting data analysis to support strategic decision-making
- Facilitating stakeholder engagement and change readiness
- Working with the team assessing technical and financial preparedness for future execution
- Coordinating across teams to ensure alignment of infrastructure, software, and support models with modern standards
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in planning complex, multi-year technology programs
- Strong understanding of cloud transformation, enterprise IT, and modernization strategies
- Proven ability to manage stakeholder relationships and drive organizational change
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills
Must-have:
- 10+ years of experience
- Expertise in applying project management theory, methodologies and techniques to provide overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of projects ensuring consistency with enterprise mandate, objectives and strategies.
- Experience developing and managing complex projects, estimating resources and preparing/presenting submissions for approval.
- Political acuity to deal with sensitive situations, to work strategically with government stakeholders and develop appropriate responses to ensure projects reflect the overall enterprise objectives and priorities.
- Knowledge of IT systems, tools and databases to develop comprehensive implementation plans. (Azure, Migration, On prem to Cloud)
