Scope:
Work with project teams to ensure a successful release of Business Intelligence reporting using Power BI. The resource(s) will be responsible for:
- Use Power Query to extract data from different data sources and choose a storage mode and connectivity type.
- Profile, clean, and load data into Power BI
- Design data models that are intuitive, high-performing, and simple to maintain
- Use M and DAX language to create measures
- Ensure high performance of Power Query data retrieval tasks
- Create Power BI report designs and report formatting, including report navigation
- Examine, sort and present data using Power BI in a cohesive manner.
- Leverage statistical summaries of data and facilitate export of data from Power BI when required.
- Apply and perform advanced analytics on reports for deeper and more meaningful data insights.
- Leverage workspaces in the Power BI service.
- Deploy Power BI artifacts to workspaces and enable sharing to users.
- Connect Power BI reports to on-premise data sources.
- Configure automatic refresh for Power BI datasets.
- Enable Row-level security
- Understand the report users needs and their requirements
- Develop reports all the way into production.
- Work with the project team in completing all relevant and required documentation in alignment with OPS standards.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Skills and Knowledge: Proven experience as a Microsoft Power BI developer, building Business Intelligence reports and dashboards
- Demonstrated experience with M, DAX and Power Query
- Knowledge of Microsoft Azure ecosystem
- Proven experience with SQL Server and other database technologies
- Proven, demonstratable experience in data modeling and data visualization; working with different data schemas and BI implementation methodologies
- Knowledge of data analysis, data management
- Proven ability to partner with internal/external stakeholders and liaise with technical experts and non-technical colleagues
- Experience in understanding, capturing, and analyzing complex and sometimes competing business requirements to develop Power BI and Business Intelligence products
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal and facilitation skills
- Strong written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills with special attention to correct use of tense, grammar/spelling and terminology
- Demonstrated effective time management and organizational skills, including the ability to plan and prioritize workload, ensuring timelines are met and respond to demands of a dynamic environment
- Mandatory Requirements: At least 5 years of experience
- All roles procured are required to be cleared through the Contractor Security Clearance Process of the OPS.
- Security Clearance process, levels, roles etc. are subject to change without prior notice. Candidates may be required to undergo revised/new process (or levels) any time prior or during the term of the contract.
Deliverables:
- Create Power BI report(s), data models
- Undertake special assignments/sub-projects as assigned
- Conduct, assess, evaluate and document stakeholder interests and business needs
- Ensure alignment and adherence to IT processes and standards
- Support the testing team during system and UAT testing
- Participate in Knowledge transfer
