You will handle cases involving divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, adoption, and other family-related issues.

We're searching for a Family Law Associate to handle client interactions, case management, court representation, and legal document drafting. They will be responsible for legal research, negotiations, and generating billable hours, while also engaging in professional development and business networking to support the firm's success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Consultation: Conduct initial consultations to understand clients' needs, provide legal advice, and outline possible courses of action.
  • Case Management: Manage a caseload of family law cases from inception to resolution, ensuring timely progress and adherence to legal deadlines.
  • Legal Research: Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategies and ensure up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and precedents.
  • Documentation: Prepare and review legal documents, including petitions, motions, agreements, and court filings.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate settlements and agreements between parties, striving for amicable resolutions while protecting clients' interests.
  • Court Representation: Represent clients in court hearings, trials, and mediations, presenting evidence and arguments effectively.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with paralegals, legal assistants, and other attorneys to ensure comprehensive case preparation and client support.
  • Client Communication: Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates and addressing any concerns promptly.
  • Confidentiality: Uphold strict confidentiality and ethical standards in all client interactions and case management activities.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience practicing family law.
  • Strong understanding of family law statutes, regulations, and case law.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and emotionally charged situations with professionalism and empathy.
  • Proven track record of successful case outcomes  
  • Experience in Litigation
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
