Location: Mississauga (On-site) 

Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Real Estate Law Clerk to join our dynamic legal team. The successful candidate will assist our attorneys with all aspects of real estate transactions, including document preparation, title searches, and client communication. This role requires a strong understanding of real estate law, excellent research skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist attorneys with the preparation and review of real estate transaction documents, including purchase agreements, leases, and closing documents.
  • Conduct thorough title searches and analyze title reports to identify any potential issues.
  • Prepare and file legal documents with relevant government agencies and courts.
  • Coordinate and schedule real estate closings, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed accurately and timely.
  • Communicate with clients, real estate agents, lenders, and other parties involved in the transaction to provide updates and gather necessary information.
  • Maintain and organize case files, ensuring all documents are filed correctly and up to date.
  • Conduct legal research and assist with the drafting of legal memos and briefs related to real estate law.
  • Monitor deadlines and manage a calendar of important dates related to real estate transactions.
  • Assist with the resolution of any issues or disputes that arise during the transaction process.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or Law Clerk Diploma/Certificate from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a law clerk, preferably with a focus on real estate law.
  • Strong knowledge of real estate law, including title searches, property transactions, and relevant legal documents.
  • Proficiency in legal research and familiarity with legal research tools and databases.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a law firm or legal department specializing in real estate.
  • Knowledge of local real estate regulations and procedures.
  • Paralegal certification or equivalent.
