Contract 1 year (Start Date: 2025-12-08, End Date: 2026-12-04)

Toronto - 525 University Ave - Hybrid 3 days onsite, up to 5 days at Ontario Healths discretion

The Sr. Project Manager will work with various teams within Ontario Health (OH) and with its external partners, clients, and vendors to ensure that the OH Cloud Transformation initiative is delivered in a timely and efficient manner with the highest level of quality. Large scale complex assignments should be expected and may lack clarity of goals and strategy. The Sr. Project Manager utilizes their education and experience to define options on the approach to take while solving complex problems. The Sr. Project Manager will collaborate with senior management and sponsors to bring clarity to the goals to the extent possible and identify strategies for successful delivery. The Sr. Project Manager should be comfortable working within an ambiguous environment where change is constant and with input from team members and SMEs, can effectively manage the delivery of the solution.

Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for on time, on budget, and on scope completion of assigned projects that are compliant with applicable external legislation and internal policies and processes including project governance framework and project management methodology, and provide feedback for continuous improvement as requested
  • Responsible for managing the resources, scope, budget, schedule, and quality of deliverables of the assigned projects
  • Establish and maintain excellent working relationship and effective communication with the Sponsor(s), internal and external partners, vendors and project team members
  • Organize and lead project meetings
  • Ensure effective project change control, including managing IT Requests for Change (RFCs) and deployments to the various environments, is in place
  • Proactively identify and manage risks, and systematically resolve or escalate known issues
  • Adhere to and promote Ontario Health policies and processes including Privacy, Security, and Record Management
  • Manage release of the product/project/work package to an operational environment

Deliverables:

  • Develop project documentation including charter, integrated project plan, project schedule, status reports, meeting notes and other project artifacts as required
  • Issue project change requests (PCRs) as applicable in response to changes in scope, schedule, budget, and release strategy (for multi-release projects)
  • Provide financial forecasts and track actual costs against the approved budget
  • Build a roadmap for OH Data center migration to AWS that Includes:
    • Assess Data Center for workload migration - review and validate the list of all VMs in the datacenters
    • Categorize this list by product and operational areas
    • Add end-of-life information for servers to help with prioritization and sequencing
    • Reach out to directors and managers to understand the plan of action and target dates: Migrate to AWS, Migrate to Azure, or Leave as is and decommission etc.
    • Build a roadmap and sequence migration
    • Build new cloud native architectures for each workload
    • Work with product teams to track and report progress
    • Report progress to executives and come up with innovative solutions to fast-track migrations

Must Haves:

  • 11+ years of experience managing large complex projects
  • 7+ years' experience with design and deployment of technical infrastructure projects
  • 7+ years' experience with application development and deployment for both products and projects (SDLC)
  • 7+ years' experience with large transformation projects related to moving products and services from data centers to the cloud (AWS and Azure)
  • Experience in managing projects in the healthcare sector or similar large-scale industries (Preferred)
