Mandatory Requirements
- Demonstrated working knowledge of Power BI Desktop, and Power BI Paginated Report Builder [At least 2 years of experience]
- Demonstrated working knowledge of SQL query languages (T-SQL, PL-SQL) [At least 4 years of experience]
- Demonstrated working knowledge of DAX programming [At least 2 years of experience]
- Demonstrated work knowledge of ETL tools, such as Microsoft Azure Data Factory, and Data Bricks, as well as data modelling methodologies. [At least 2 years' experience]
Nice-to-Have Skills and Experience
- Experience/ demonstrated ability to perform technical troubleshooting, specifically within a business intelligence environment/team or against reports, dashboards, and database queries such as Transact SQL (T-SQL)
- Experience / demonstrated ability to analyze data to resolve data quality issues and perform report validation
- Demonstrated experience working within a team environment to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems
- Oral and written communication skills, Interpersonal and consultative skills, Facilitation skills
- Demonstrated experience working in a team environment, contributing to team meetings on work progress, communicating risks and issues, providing results from work assessments, and explaining technical tasks to non-technical team members
- Experience preparing documentation
Desired Skills and Experience
- Experience working in a business intelligence team/ environment, developing and delivering business intelligence and/or analytical reports and dashboards
- Experience working with Power BI Desktop, and Power BI Report Builder to design and develop reports and dashboards and work with team members to explore options to redesign outdated reports
- Experience writing and working with Microsoft Power BI DAX code to implement business logic within Power BI reports
- Experience performing troubleshooting of SQL queries, business intelligence and analytical reports, as well as performing data analysis to complete data validation and ensure report accuracy.
- Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, and Oracle databases
- Knowledge of ETL tools, such as Azure Data Factory, Microsoft SSDT, IBM InfoSphere DataStage, etc.
Scope
- Provide planning, assessment, and development effort to meet workload demand of the BI reporting enablement activity, which support program areas within the Ministry of Attorney General.
- Work with a Project Manager and Business Areas to evaluate requirements, model/process data (I.e., Extract, Transform and Loading (ETL) & data warehousing) and develop reports/dashboards/data visualizations, utilizing Power BI Desktop, Power BI Report Builder (based on best fit to meet requirements).
- Work with project team to ensure reports/dashboards/data visualizations are properly reviewed for quality assurance and compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 Level AA.
- Work with project team to complete all relevant and required documentation, such as knowledge transfer, and communication, to support the completion of the project
Assignment Deliverables
- Participate in requirements gathering sessions to understand the functional and non-functional needs
- Perform assessment, and define approach in collaboration with project team and stakeholder to successfully deliver effective BI Solutions
- Perform data modelling and develop data processing pipelines to supply data repositories and warehouses using Microsoft Azure Data Factory, and Data Bricks.
- Perform design and development activities to produce reports/dashboards/data visualizations within Power BI Desktop or Power BI Report Builder.
- Perform troubleshooting and apply corrective actions to resolve issues with BI Solutions discovered during pre-release testing
- Work with project team to provide relevant and required documentation to support migration activities and knowledge transfer
- Participate in knowledge transfer activities
