Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting & Compliance:
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Ensure all financial reporting complies with regulatory requirements.
- Lead the month-end and year-end close processes.
- Manage tax compliance, working closely with tax advisors to ensure accuracy and adherence to tax regulations.
- Internal Controls & Risk Management:
- Develop and maintain a strong internal control environment to protect company assets.
- Implement and enforce policies and procedures to mitigate financial risks.
- Identify potential risk areas and recommend strategic mitigation plans.
- Team Leadership:
Foster a collaborative, results-oriented work culture aligned with FlyUSAs mission and goals.
Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing accounting team.
- Process Improvement:
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
Leverage technology and financial systems (preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or Great Plains) to streamline accounting operations.
- Tax Compliance:
- Ensure timely and accurate tax filings in collaboration with external tax advisors.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.
- Strategic Contribution:
- Partner with senior leadership on initiatives that impact the financial health and strategic direction of the organization.
What Were Looking For
Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA license is mandatory.
- Experience:
8-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
Background in public accounting and/or corporate settings with exposure to financial and managerial accounting.
Proficiency with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or Great Plains preferred).
- Skills & Qualities:
Strong knowledge of GAAP.
Passion for process automation and technology adoption to improve customer and employee experiences.
Exceptional leadership, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
High integrity, dependability, and a results-oriented mindset.
Willingness to get your hands dirty and take on challenges with a proactive approach.
