Senior Protection & Control Engineer
The Senior Protection & Control Engineer will lead the design and implementation of electrical protection systems for substation projects. Working collaboratively with project teams, this role is responsible for developing detailed design documents, drawings, and specifications to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient power system operation. Expertise in protection relaying schemessuch as bus, transmission line, and transformer protectionis essential for success.
Who You Are

Bachelors degree in electrical engineering; Professional Engineer (PE) license required.

At least 8 years of experience in protection and control (P&C) engineering design, with a strong focus on substation projects.

Solid understanding of power systems, substation design principles, and protection relay schemes.

Knowledge of applicable industry codes, standards, and best practices.

Skilled in Microsoft Office and proficient with AutoCAD or MicroStation.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.

Able to manage and execute complex projects independently while collaborating effectively with cross-disciplinary teams.
What Youll Do

Develop design documents and drawings for substation protection and control systems, including one-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, relay and metering diagrams, and bills of materials.

Design and implement protection schemes for substations, ensuring compliance with all standards, regulations, and safety requirements.

Conduct system analysis, relay settings, and coordination studies.

Perform QA reviews of protection and control documents.

Support commissioning and testing of protection and control systems to verify proper functionality.

Coordinate and communicate project activities with engineers, designers, and client representatives.
