Position: Transmission Line Project Engineering Manager

Overview:
Were seeking an experienced Transmission Line Project Engineering Manager to lead a team of multidisciplinary engineers and technicians. This role offers the opportunity to manage complex and diverse projects across our design and EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) services portfolio, ensuring high standards in quality, budget control, and scheduling. Youll play a key role in client engagement, business development, and overall project leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of engineering projects, managing scope, budget, schedule, and quality across multiple disciplines.

  • Serve as a key point of contact for clients, coordinating project changes and aligning deliverables with client expectations.

  • Review and oversee technical work from team members, ensuring engineering accuracy and regulatory compliance.

  • Act as Engineer of Record (EOR) where applicable, coordinating efforts across disciplines.

  • Foster strong working relationships with internal teams, project stakeholders, and support personnel.

  • Communicate client goals and objectives clearly to the project team and adapt project execution strategies accordingly.

  • Participate in business development activities, including proposal preparation and client presentations.

  • Travel occasionally for site visits, design reviews, and client meetings.

  • Maintain strict adherence to client quality standards and industry regulations.

  • Mentor, guide, and support professional development of junior team members.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience managing overhead transmission line projects for investor-owned utilities within the U.S., particularly in EPC or design service settings.

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in high-voltage overhead transmission line design, with strong expertise in:

    • PLS-CADD software

    • Line routing and structural loading

    • Foundation design

    • Full project lifecycle understanding

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on building client relationships.

  • Advanced knowledge of engineering principles, relevant codes, and industry design standards.

  • Familiarity with interdisciplinary coordination including procurement, subcontracting, permitting, land acquisition, and construction support.

  • Experience preparing technical proposals and cost estimates.

  • Professional Engineering (P.E.) License strongly preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.

  • At least 8 years of relevant engineering experience.

  • Must successfully complete pre-employment screening, which may include background checks, drug screening, and a review of motor vehicle records, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Certifications:

  • Professional licensure is typically required depending on the nature of work. Candidates should either hold a valid P.E. license in their home country or be actively pursuing licensure.

  • Additional licensure may be required based on assignment location or project needs, subject to management approval.
