Key Responsibilities:

  • Proficiency in electrical design for water/wastewater projects.
  • Under general direction, develop designs ranging from basic to highly complex for electric master system plans, power systems, protection and generation models, facility power systems, and sustainability/renewable energy systems.
  • Manage high-complexity electrical power system or energy projects for various clients, including the U.S. Federal Government.
  • Preferred proficiency with SKM Power*Tools or similar electrical system analysis software.
  • Conduct power system studies and perform electrical calculations, including lighting simulations, layouts, communications, fire alarm, and security systems. Contribute to the firms Technical Knowledge Management (TKM) by developing white papers and technical documentation.
  • Perform site reviews and studies as needed to ensure designs meet location specifications and update design requirements accordingly.
  • Submit technical papers and designs for publication in professional journals.
  • Collaborate with sales staff to create proposals in response to client RFPs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Engage with current and potential clients to discuss their design needs and attend conferences to enhance the firms visibility alongside sales staff.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff, mentoring them for future growth within the firm.
  • Supervise junior engineers on project work as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related field.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license.
  • 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Domestic and/or international travel may be required, depending on workload and project demands. Equivalent directly related experience will be considered in place of a degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in performing technical electrical calculations using electrical systems analysis software.
  • Experience leading electrical design for medium to large projects.
  • Supervisory experience with junior staff.

Travel Requirements: 20%

Skills and Abilities:

  • Expert knowledge of computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices.
  • Advanced understanding of engineering design principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations.
