Description
The Project Engineer III role is part of the Transmission Line Engineering team, focusing on engineering tasks and offering technical expertise to address design challenges with minimal supervision. The role involves performing a variety of routine tasks, helping to build experience and familiarity with engineering methods, practices, and team members. This position reports to the Transmission Engineering Manager.
Requirements
The level of supervision required will depend on the candidate's experience and qualifications.
- Contribute to the design and evaluation of transmission and distribution overhead power lines to ensure cost-effective and efficient solutions.
- Participate in Overhead Transmission & Distribution Design using PLS-CADD software, from building models from scratch to making minor adjustments to existing ones.
- Review engineering plans, specifications, and equipment for utility projects.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and sketches.
- Assist in the ongoing development of standards to guide future project planning and design.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
- Perform other related duties as required, including project management tasks related to assigned work.
Minimum Qualifications:
- B.S. degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering.
- 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
