Position Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Underground Transmission Line Project Engineering Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team in delivering complex infrastructure projects. This role will focus on overseeing high-quality design execution, maintaining budgetary and schedule requirements, and contributing to client relations and business development efforts across a portfolio of EPC and design service projects.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage engineering teams across various disciplines for underground transmission line projects.

Ensure project objectives related to quality, budget, and schedule are consistently achieved.

Serve as a technical leader, reviewing and overseeing engineering outputs; may act as Engineer of Record for select projects.

Collaborate directly with clients and project managers to address project scope changes and ensure alignment with deliverables.

Maintain and nurture effective communication and coordination with internal teams and stakeholders.

Translate client expectations and priorities into actionable project plans and team direction.

Provide strategic input on business development efforts, including proposal development and project pursuits.

Travel as needed to support site inspections, design reviews, and client meetings.

Apply technical knowledge to ensure projects comply with internal quality standards and industry regulations.

Mentor junior staff, fostering growth, performance excellence, and team collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications

Proven experience managing EPC or design-focused underground transmission line projects for investor-owned utilities in the U.S.

Extensive knowledge of high-voltage underground transmission design, including lifecycle management and specification development.

Experience in generating plan and profile drawings for underground transmission lines.

Proficiency in CYMCAP and Pull-Planner or similar design tools.

Strong communication skills and a client-focused mindset for relationship development.

Advanced understanding of engineering principles, codes, and applicable design standards.

Working knowledge of project coordination across disciplines including procurement, permitting, subcontracting, and construction support.

Experience in preparing proposals and developing engineering cost estimates.

Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is strongly preferred.
Minimum Requirements

Bachelors degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.

A minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience in the field.

Must be able to meet all pre-employment requirements, including background checks, drug screening, and motor vehicle record review, in compliance with applicable laws.
