Description
Occupational Summary: Oversee and mentor a small team of engineers and CAD designers, focusing on General/Physical Layout and Protection & Control aspects of substation design projects. The candidate will serve as the primary sealing engineer for most of the team's work, and will also be responsible for managing customer relations and contributing to business development with select clients. This position reports to the Divisional Manager.
Requirements
Position requirements include:
- Guide and coordinate the work of junior engineers, designers, and CAD operators on the assigned team.
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers, managing ongoing projects, ensuring customer satisfaction, and handling future business and project planning.
- Demonstrate expertise in various substation engineering disciplines, including physical layout design, protection/control design, relay settings programming, field support, substation commissioning, and relay testing.
- Lead and participate in project design activities, such as performing engineering calculations, utilizing design software, and referencing relevant engineering standards and manuals.
- Prepare and oversee the development of complex project documents, including specifications and bid documents.
- Conduct and manage detailed drawing reviews to ensure that full plan sets are accurate, clear, and thoroughly represent the design intent.
- Supervise and assist in the training of division Project Engineers I and II.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Must interact effectively with employees at all levels.
- Perform other duties related to the work described herein.

Minimum Qualifications:
- B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering required.
- Five to ten years of relevant experience required.
- Must be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
