Occupational Summary: Lead and mentor a small team of approximately five engineers and CAD designers, focusing on General/Physical Layout and Protection & Control aspects of substation design projects. The candidate will act as the primary sealing engineer for most of the team's output and will also manage customer relations and contribute to business development with select clients. This position reports to the Divisional Manager.

Requirements
Position requirements include:

  • Mentor and manage the work of junior engineers, designers, and CAD operators on the assigned team.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, handling existing projects, ensuring satisfaction, and managing future business and project plans.
  • Expertise in various areas of substation engineering, including physical layout design, protection/control design, relay settings programming, field support, substation commissioning, and relay testing.
  • Oversee and perform project design tasks, including engineering calculations, utilizing design software, and referencing appropriate engineering procedures and manuals.
  • Prepare and oversee the creation of complex project documents, such as specifications and bid documents.
  • Conduct and supervise detailed drawing reviews, ensuring that full plan sets clearly, accurately, and thoroughly represent the design intent.
  • Supervise and assist in the training of Project Engineers I and II.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Perform other related duties as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering required.
  • Five to ten years of relevant experience required.
  • Must be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
