About the job Project Engineer III - Distribution
We are seeking a Project Engineer with 5+ years of experience in overhead and underground distribution design.
Positions are available in the Baltimore and Raleigh offices.
Responsibilities

Plan, design, stake, and coordinate overhead and underground distribution projects in accordance with NESC, RUS, and other relevant codes, standards, and specifications.

Perform peer and final reviews of distribution designs prepared by others to ensure compliance with all applicable requirements.

Seal distribution line designs completed by yourself and by team members.

Coordinate distribution line design and construction activities with customers and other impacted utilities.

Support customers in obtaining easements, encroachments, and required permits.

Provide design assistance through draft reports, calculations, plans, details, and specifications.

Prepare project schedules, planning documents, design packages, permitting materials, and construction documentation.

Ensure all work meets safety, quality, and code requirements within established deadlines.

Identify and resolve issues early in the project lifecycle.

Deliver clear, timely updates on progress, reviews, observations, and solutions.

Conduct field visits and develop field reports as needed.

Perform additional tasks consistent with the general scope of the role.
Requirements

Bachelors degree in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.

5+ years of relevant professional experience in a related discipline.

Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Solid project management abilities with a track record of on-time, on-budget delivery; experience with Microsoft Project is preferred.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with varying priorities and timelines.

Experience working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders in a client-consultant environment.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD; Civil 3D experience is a plus.

Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time.

Ability to work outdoors and navigate construction sites.

Must be able to pass a drug screening and background check and maintain a driving record that meets company policy standards.
