We are seeking a Project Engineer with 5+ years of experience in overhead and underground distribution design.

Positions are available in the Baltimore and Raleigh offices.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, stake, and coordinate overhead and underground distribution projects in accordance with NESC, RUS, and other relevant codes, standards, and specifications.

  • Perform peer and final reviews of distribution designs prepared by others to ensure compliance with all applicable requirements.

  • Seal distribution line designs completed by yourself and by team members.

  • Coordinate distribution line design and construction activities with customers and other impacted utilities.

  • Support customers in obtaining easements, encroachments, and required permits.

  • Provide design assistance through draft reports, calculations, plans, details, and specifications.

  • Prepare project schedules, planning documents, design packages, permitting materials, and construction documentation.

  • Ensure all work meets safety, quality, and code requirements within established deadlines.

  • Identify and resolve issues early in the project lifecycle.

  • Deliver clear, timely updates on progress, reviews, observations, and solutions.

  • Conduct field visits and develop field reports as needed.

  • Perform additional tasks consistent with the general scope of the role.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.

  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience in a related discipline.

  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Solid project management abilities with a track record of on-time, on-budget delivery; experience with Microsoft Project is preferred.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with varying priorities and timelines.

  • Experience working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders in a client-consultant environment.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD; Civil 3D experience is a plus.

  • Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time.

  • Ability to work outdoors and navigate construction sites.

  • Must be able to pass a drug screening and background check and maintain a driving record that meets company policy standards.
