Austrade is seeking an experienced Cloud Solutions Architect to join its Enterprise Architecture team. The role will provide senior cloud architecture expertise across a portfolio of technology initiatives and support the continued modernisation of Austrade's Microsoft Azure environment.

The successful candidate will have substantial experience delivering cloud solutions in complex enterprise environments and a practical understanding of Commonwealth governance, security and assurance requirements. They will provide clear technical direction and work across business, architecture and delivery teams to develop solutions that can be implemented and supported effectively.

Key duties and responsibilities

The Cloud Solutions Architect will:

• Lead the development of cloud solution architectures from requirements through to implementation.

• Work with business and technical stakeholders to define requirements, constraints and expected outcomes.

• Assess solution options and produce architecture artefacts, including solution designs, patterns, standards and implementation guidance.

• Design secure, resilient, scalable and supportable solutions using approved cloud services and platforms.

• Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture, security, data, integration and operational requirements.

• Present solution proposals through architecture and technology governance processes and address issues raised during review.

• Provide architecture oversight and technical guidance to delivery teams during implementation.

• Identify architecture risks, dependencies and technical debt, and recommend practical treatments.

• Contribute to the development of cloud architecture standards, patterns and roadmaps.

• Work independently, manage competing priorities and provide clear advice to stakeholders.
