This role will work within the Warfighting Applications area of the Warfighting Networks and Applications Support Organisation (WSO), ICT Delivery Division, Chief Information Officer Group, Department of Defence.

The Integration Specialist (IS) is responsible for planning, designing and implementing the integration process, including creation of design and supporting documentation. This is primarily an on the tools application packaging position within the Warfighting Applications Product Line (WAPL). The IS will conduct application integration activities, including design in support of interoperability frameworks, user stories, capability needs and standards analysis. Additionally, discovery, prototyping, implementation, packaging, support to design assurance and regression test activities, whilst working collaboratively with team peers and cross- functionally to the broader WSO setting. This role provides a significant contribution to enhancing overall capacity in responding to meet the ICT needs of the Warfighter.

The Integration Specialist (IS) will be required to hold and/or have ability to demonstrate skills and experience including, but not limited to (section below):

  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or a degree in a related field;
  • Knowledge and understanding of Command and Control, and Collaboration Applications and their related infrastructure requirements;
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of infrastructure, networking (both unicast as well as multicast), IdAM solutions, PKI, middleware and distribution mechanisms, as well as system integration design, design assurance and definition rigor;
  • Knowledge and understanding of Defence Enterprise Risk Management, especially as well as Defence ICT Delivery
  • Knowledge and understanding of software integration, scalability and deployment considerations within secure environments;
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps &/or CI/CD pipelines, containerization, virtualisation, SAFe Agile Delivery and ITILv4.
  • Knowledge and understanding of FMN/Interoperability Frameworks, including CoI and DC Strategy
  • Advanced practitioner skills for both GUI and CLI based environments,

operating systems, ancillaries and appliances;
