Overview:
The Business Solutions Branch within DFATs Information Management and Technology Division, has a requirement for a labour-hire resource/s to fill the role of Test Analyst. The Test Analyst/s will be working in Agile teams on our high-profile software development projects. This is a fast-paced environment, and we require enthusiastic, professional Testers who have experience working on large, complex projects. The successful applicant/s will be an integral part of development teams that build and maintain Employment and Education Systems, having the opportunity to use leading edge technology. They will be responsible for analysis of requirements, the design, preparation, and execution of test cases in a large enterprise system.

- The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) promotes and protects Australias international interests to support our security and prosperity. - The Salesforce program within DFAT has been running since 2019 and is responsible for a broad remit of new and ongoing work ranging from Consular and Crisis support of Australians overseas, implementation of Trade sanctions and governance, and implementation of Australian Student Scholarship programs, to name a few. We are looking for motivated professionals to join our dynamic team to deliver a sustainable Salesforce ecosystem to manage a complex and varied workload.

We are looking for Test Analysts to perform manual testing activities with responsibilities including:
You will be required to:
- Analyse documented specifications, user stories and requirements to support the creation of test cases.
- Write, review and execute test cases.
- Effectively prioritise testing efforts, and test case execution.
- Report and track the resolution of defects/issues as they are found in testing.
- Work with the ability to be proactive, flexible, and agile, whilst managing changing goals and scope in a multidisciplinary agile project team.
- Undertaking manual testing against functional and non-functional project requirements, including data migration, system integration and accessibility.
- Preparing, reviewing, and executing test cases, and recording results in Azure DevOps.

Essential criteria
- To fulfil the responsibilities of the role, the following criteria are considered essential:
- 5 years experience undertaking system and integration testing of largescale systems, using manual testing methods.
- Well-developed testing skills, including the ability to write, review and execute complex test cases.
Demonstrated understanding of Testing principles such as Test Phases, Test reporting, Test Traceability, Defect Triage and the Defect Management Lifecycle Demonstrated experience in SQL and querying databases using tools such as SQL Visual Studio. - Effectively prioritise testing efforts and test case execution, and report and track the resolution of defects/issues.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in testing APIs using postman or similar toolset, including ability to read and understand swagger files (YAML) or similar.
- Experience working in an Agile software development environment as a part of a multi-disciplinary team, and experience using DevOps toolset.
- Available to work from the Canberra DFAT offices at least 3 working days/week.
- Canberra based.

- Comfortable with new ways of thinking about accessibility and enthusiastic about accessible design & development will be highly regarded.
- Experience working on secure government systems.
- Experience working in a complex global ICT environment.
- Experience with project management systems, tools, and processes and how these are practically used in Agile and Waterfall environments (DevOps, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Project).
