This role will work within the Tranche Planning function of the Warfighting Networks and Applications Support Organisation (WSO), ICT Delivery Division, Chief Information Officer Group, Department of Defence.

The Business Architect will be required to perform and/or have responsibility for duties including, but not limited to:

  • Iteration and maintenance of the WSOs Operating Model, including descriptions of the inter-relationships between people, organization, service, process, data, information, technology and the external environment.
  • Supporting the formation of constraints, standards and guiding principles necessary to define, assure and govern future iterations of the WSOs Operating Model to achieve a predictable transition to the intended state.
  • Contributions to the creation and review of a systems capability strategy which meets the strategic requirements of the business.
  • Developing models and plans to drive forward the strategy, taking advantage of opportunities to improve business performance.
  • Taking responsibility for investigative work to determine requirements and specify effective business processes, through improvements in information systems, data management, practices, procedures, organisation and equipment.
  • Implementation of the WSOs Operating Model, developing plans and models to review the Operating Models capability and performance, ensuring organisational policies, processes and SOPs are appropriately assigned and maintained to ensure consistency with the Operating Model.

Chairing the WSO Operating Model Working Group, focusing on defining and adjusting organisational and contractual functional boundaries to implement the Operating Model.
