Supercomputing plays a vital role in the design, development or analysis of modern weapon systems and national security systems. DSTGs supercomputers provide the computational and data systems to increase the speed of capability development, optimise equipment design, operational performance and solve contemporary and projected problems for Defence.

The Supercomputing Program is looking for a skilled candidate to work within the DSTG Supercomputing Branch to provide Supercomputing expert advice and services relating to solution architecture, system design and identity management. The Supercomputing Solution Architect provides advice to the Capability Design Board and is an integral member of the Capability Platform Development team. The Contractor works collaboratively to define, develop, test, document and implement the approved system design to ensure compliance with the Information Security Manual, Protective Security Policy Framework and the Defence Security Policy Framework controls.

The Solutions Architect will also provide knowledge transfer through on the job skills training and mentoring to the Commonwealth staff, as well as assist in the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures and processes.

The Solutions Architect is to address their demonstrated capability against the following Areas of Expertise supported by the following:
- Supercomputing system design knowledge and experience
- Identity Management system design, development and experience
- High level and low level programming languages eg Perl, Python, C, C++;
- Given broad direction, capable of working independently to achieve the outcomes in a timely manner in line with project deadlines and requirements;
- Work collaboratively within the team and external stakeholders to achieve System Accreditation for supercomputing systems; and
- Provide knowledge transfer to APS staff.
