Overview

The AEC is seeking to engage a suitable candidate to fill a Release Train Engineer (RTE)

role. The RTE will take the role of servant leader and Agile Release Train (ART) coach in the

Indigo Program Management Office (IPMO).

About our requirements

The Release Train Engineer position will be require to perform the following services:

Facilitate ART events and processes, and support our teams in delivering value.

Communicate with stakeholders, escalate impediments, help manage risk, and drive relentless improvement.

facilitate Agile Release Train (ART) practices and Program Increment (PI) execution

support the adaptation of SAFe® to the AECs needs, standardising and documenting practices.

Utilise relationship management skills to form and maintain positive working relationships across the Program

Perform additional responsibilities in line with this position

About the Project

We are recruiting to the IPMO, within the Enterprise Strategy and Transformation Division, which sits within the Enterprise Transformation Group. The Group as a whole is responsible for planning, designing and providing oversight of the Election Systems Modernisation Program (the Indigo Program) and the agencys transformation agenda.

The Indigo Program is a once in a generation modernisation program to improve the delivery of election and roll management services. This role will contribute to a broad program that will position the agency to handle a significant uplift in their service delivery.

The Indigo Program is adopting the Scaled Agile Framework ® (SAFe®) methodology and is looking for personnel with the experience and skills to support an ambitious program of work, while also strengthening the organisations capability.

There is a large focus on cultural fit within the Group overall and the ability to maintain open and honest communication and collaboration. The expectation is that this role is one that will embody this culture, support the positive maintenance of this culture within their specific team and be an advocate for the continued maintenance of that culture

Essential Criteria

Mandatory:

Evidenced experience and skills as a Release Train Engineer.

A strong understanding of the SAFe® methodology, and its application within a large and complex Program within a government context.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to effectively communicate, collaborate and negotiate with a range of audiences.

Excellent teamwork skills, with the ability to work with colleagues to achieve outcomes.

Experience effectively managing competing priorities and strategic directions, with an ability to remain calm under pressure and respond flexibly to change and uncertainty.

Proven ability to act with discretion and integrity in managing sensitive information
