Qualifications
Essential:
- Tertiary qualifications in Tertiary qualifications (e.g. Bachelor) in in Computer Science or IT or Telecommunication or Engineering or a related discipline
Desirable:
- Degree or diploma in Program Management and/or Project Management (e.g. Agile methodology)
- System Engineering Course
Experience
Essential:
- 5+ years of demonstrated experience working as Engineering Technical Lead inside complex and/or largescale ICT Projects/programs.
- Sound knowledge of System design concepts and methodologies.
- Sound Knowledge of Network Design concepts and methodologies.
- Foundation Knowledge of Architecture Design concepts and methodologies.
- Foundation Knowledge of Security Design concepts and methodologies.
- Minimum 2 years Agile / DevOps / Scrum experience.
- Experience in requirements elicitation across stakeholder communities.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve deliverables within challenging and tight timeframes.
Desirable:
- Australian Government, Defence, or Defence Industry experience
- Successfully delivered a Product inside a complex and/or largescale ICT Projects/programs.
- Cyber Security Projects engineering roles.
Responsibilities
- Sound Knowledge of all technical aspects of appropriate systems design methods, tools and techniques selecting appropriately from predictive (plan-driven) approaches or adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches, and ensures they are applied effectively.
- Responsible for the technical direction of the Product and work with the Product Owner to understand the business goals and objectives to translate into the technical solution.
- Communicate with relevant stakeholders to understand their needs and use that information to guide the design of the Product.
- Design SDTE and DCOSS based on functional and non-functional requirements.
- Undertakes impact analysis on major design options and trade-off.
- Reviews others' systems designs to ensure selection of appropriate technology, efficient use of resources, and integration of multiple systems and technology.
- Guide and mentor DCOSS Product team to ensure that product is developed efficiently and meet quality standards.
- Assesses and Manages risks and issues associated with the Product.
- Responsible for delivering end-to-end Product and ensure the product is fit-for-purpose.
- Responsible for developing and reviewing the documentation for the Product.
- Participate in selection and hiring of Product Line staff.
- Create and assist others to author User Stories for the Product Line.
- Triage user stories, defects and other Product Line tasks.
- Ensure timely processing of the QMR backlogs for the Product.
- Assist Product Manager to manage a Product Line schedule to meet the timelines.
- Work with the COSPO Cyber Security Manager to appropriately respond to relevant security breaches, investigate how they occurred, identify lessons learned and implement remediation actions.
- Build and sustain productive relationships with team members, staff and supervisors, and actively participate in teamwork and group activities.
