Required Skills and Experience:

Has at least three years experience practicing as a professional degree qualified engineer OR has at least 3 years experience practicing with a relevant professional science degree OR has 12+ years relevant industry experience.

High-level understanding on the systems engineering discipline and practical application of associated concepts including; requirements definition, design and readiness reviews, system safety, configuration management and audits, verification and validation and technical certification, MSRs requirements as defined by Defence frameworks

Demonstrated experience leading teams applying software development methodologies (including Agile and DevOps/DevSecOps), managing test and evaluation in development operations, ICT governance frameworks and maintenance and operations environments.

Demonstrated experience in application migration planning and packaging.

Experience with executing transition from project to sustainment.

Demonstrated capacity to initiate and manage influential relationships with internal and external customers, suppliers and partners at senior management level.

Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities to maintain delivery cadence.

Desirable

Experience in designing and developing solutions in high security environments

Detailed knowledge in infrastructure, systems engineering, networking, middleware applications and system integration design

Extensive knowledge of software integration and deployment strategies within secure environments, including CI/CD pipelines, containerisation (i.e. Kubernetes).

Knowledge of the use of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) to manage agile delivery.

Experience with the Defence Strategic Framework, Defence Capability Life Cycle and the related governance requirements.

Previously held technical regulatory framework delegations in the Defence or other Government Agency context.

Understanding of the Information and Communications Technology (ICT)

Security Certification and Accreditation processes.

Knowledge and deep understanding of JC2 systems, strategic networks, tactical networks, and ICT organisations within the FVEYS Military context.

Understanding of the Defence Security Principles Framework, Public Key Infrastructure, and cyber worthiness principles.
