Overview
The Linux Administrator:
- May be required to provide team leader functions if this is required the appropriate support and/or training will be provided.
- Complies with JCTB Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) Policy.
- Performs work in production and non-production environments.
- Manages and documents the configuration of Linux based systems.
- Manages and configures virtual machines supporting simulation applications.
- Performs audits of hardware and software and manages storage and backup.
- Applies operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes.
- Adds, removes, or updates user account information, including password resets.
- Optimises the performance of the system.
- Utilises JCTB ITSM tools, monitors tools routinely, responds to ticketing & scheduling priorities, annotates tickets with meaningful commentary, reassigns with approval and marks complete using standard criteria.
- Analyses system logs and identifies potential issues; and
- Trouble-shoots reported problems.
