Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Technical qualifications in Information Technology or equivalent
  • VM Ware/Sphere training course or equivalent

Experience

Essential:

  • System Administration Management.
  • Demonstrated experience as a system administrator for medium to large scale ICT systems.
  • Demonstrated experience as a network and systems technician on medium to large scale projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in Windows operating system including Active Directory Management.
  • Demonstrated experience with current networking technologies, including hands on experience with configuration of a wide range of network appliances including HAIPE devices.
  • Demonstrated experience with configuration management, software management, ICT system roll out, cabling/Wiring and computer server/networking hardware.
  • High-level verbal and written communication skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience with hyper-converged infrastructure, converged infrastructure, VMWare virtualisation
  • Experience with Linux operating system.
  • Experience with virtual desktop infrastructures and monitoring.
  • Agile development methods and tools such as SCRUM with JIRA.
  • Hold vendor certifications (Cisco, Citrix, VMware, Microsoft, Linux, Fortigate/Palo-alto/F5)
  • Australian government and/or Defence experience.
  • Exposure to Bespoke Cyber systems simulations and both front and back end management.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for administration of all software/technical aspects of DCR operations.
  • Responsible for Supervision of the DCR System Technicians.
  • Responsible for lower level system administrators and user privilege control
  • Assists in Implementation of DCR designs as prepared by the DCR Systems Design team.
  • Provides input to the DCR system architecture, infrastructure designs and software tools and applications.
  • Identifies security gaps in existing soft layer monitoring and recommends and communicates action plans in-conjunction with the SMM, in collaboration with the Cyber Security Manager.
  • Identifies and develops improvements to workplace SOPs, and processes related to areas of duty.
  • Oversees the system administration documentation and updates in accordance to changes in governance, policy and implementation.

Security Clearance

  • The ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) NV2 security clearance or higher
  • Must be an Australian citizen
