Services Australia is seeking to identify suitable Candidates to perform the role of Business

Analysts, Systems Analysts and Solution Design Managers up to manager levels to support

the agency to document business requirements, capture business needs, and design, create,

evaluate, and document ICT solutions in new and existing ICT systems.

Business Analysts analyse and integrate information provided by customers, staff,

Information Technology (IT) professionals, executives, and other internal and external

stakeholders. They are responsible for understanding the core needs and requirements of

stakeholders and the agency. Business Analysts often play a central role in aligning the

needs of business units with the capabilities delivered by IT or business activities and may

serve as a translator between stakeholder groups. Business Analysts exercise a degree of

independent judgement and make decisions within defined parameters that rely on skills and

knowledge.

The level of Security Clearance required for a Role will be confirmed at the time of Contract.

Main Duties Duties may include, but not limited to, some or all of the following:

assist in defining and clarifying business needs to inform action plans, solution reports or business cases for consideration by senior staff

liaise with stakeholders to understand, gather, and analyse their requirements and concerns in line with the agency's business objectives

identify potential business needs to recommend improvements for consideration by senior staff and provide analysis, verification, and validation on the recommended improvements

conduct stakeholder analysis to assist in effectively understanding cross business functions

facilitate communication across business units with a range of stakeholders and represent the agency by promoting its interests at a range of forums

assist with managing requirements and communication through scope, traceability, and maintenance

produce documents that may include risk analysis, scope modelling, problem tracking and sequence diagrams

prepare or contribute to change management plans and/or communication plans

participate and perform brainstorming, workshops, prototyping, observation, or interviews, and confirm or report on results

prepare and contribute to clear business and stakeholder requirement documentation including prioritising, organising, and verifying the requirements

examine and organise requirements to record and identify dependencies, relationships, and logical sequences

review project documentation and agency processes to assist with determining deliverables

contribute to risk analysis, identify issues and problem tracking to assist senior staff with the mitigation of potential issues

contribute towards the requirements management plan, including testing and quality checking activities

contribute towards or manage performance reporting activities and/or variance analysis

prepare textual statements, matrices, diagrams, and formal models to contribute to the analysis of requirements
