Overview

As the NDIA is growing to meet the needs of the Australian population, the NDIA requires comprehensive IT systems to support the day to day running of the organisation.

The Platforms, Integration & Data team are responsible for scoping, designing, delivering and maintaining high quality IT systems and applications to support the entire agency and our partner organisations to deliver the National Disability Insurance Scheme to our participants every day.

As an ICT Generalist you will be responsible for configuring and managing new and existing applications in cloud environments. You will also support the team when writing requirements for new systems, be responsible for key configuration and deployment tasks during implementation and be involved in the ongoing monitoring of systems once delivered into production.

You will be the primary point of contact for application vendors, working closely with them to ensure that the application meets the agency's needs and identifying areas for improvement. You possess excellent troubleshooting skills and work well with other teams and vendors to resolve issues.

Your background will cover a significant breadth of the ICT landscape and you exhibit a high degree of accuracy and logic when designing solutions. You will be very technical; however, you also have a high level of business acumen that you use to communicate complex ideas to a wide range of stakeholders.

Please note that we are not looking for on-premise or Windows domain system administrators.

Duties

  • Configuring and managing new and existing applications in cloud environments (AWS and Azure).
  • Producing documentation outlining configuration, maintenance and standard operating procedures for new or modified applications.
  • Configuring systems and applications based on industry best practices and utilizing IaC tools (Terraform).
  • Configuring applications to use enterprise authentication systems (SAML or other SSO).
  • Examining current systems and making suggestions on efficiencies and improvement areas.
  • Troubleshooting technical issues in a cloud-based environment.
  • Collaborate closely with vendors to ensure that systems meet the agency's needs; keep up to date with the latest product enhancements and evaluate their potential benefit to the agency; identify and recommend product improvements and leverage relationships to improve systems.
  • Collaborating with Business Analysts, Project Leads and IT team to resolve issues, and ensuring solutions are viable and consistent.
  • Creating user guides and manuals for the implemented applications.
  • Contribute to the evaluation of new applications, ensuring that the systems are good value for money, deliver on their intended purpose and meet the agencys accessibility standards.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with other technical teams, business stakeholders and vendors.

Every application requires to address selection criteria as part of application submission.

Essential Criteria

1. Experience configuring and maintaining applications in cloud environments.

2. Demonstrated experience working in a cloud environment (Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services).

3. Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and resolving issues within a cloud environment.

4. Experience managing relationships with stakeholders and application vendors where you are the main point of contact to configure and maintain applications.

5. Experience implementing and configuring applications to use SSO through Azure AD, or strong knowledge of enterprise authentication methods.

6. Broad experience in different ICT disciplines.

Desirable Criteria

1. Experience in ZScaler suite, Cloudflare and zero trust concepts.

2. Experience using IaC (Terraform) and Git (Gitlab)

3. Demonstrated experience delivering and maintaining ICT systems that have a high change impact to the organisation.

4. Experience working in an operational environment within ICT management frameworks such as ITIL.
