Working in collaboration with the Software Asset Controller, who will facilitate the procurement of software and manage the contractual obligations in relation to software. The Software Maintenance Officer will maintain the in service software, including the distribution of licenses and manage quantities and images which the software is installed using the COSPO support system. This includes managing configurations and releases which are derived from the Engineering Management System (EMS) through Modification Orders.
Relating software maintenance to ISM controls, maintaining in service software licenses within ADF Defensive Cyber Systems, identifying and capturing risk and managing software and configuration defects, are examples of frequent engagement and regular role requirements. Deliverables are typically bespoke and directly support ADF defensive cyber capability. Less frequent roles would include the development and control of software images for internal support systems.
Sound technical abilities and customer focus is required. The Software Maintenance Officer is required to be productive under limited supervision, provide timely feedback on work states and recommends technical options for meeting workplace objectives.
