Role Description and Requirements
A significant element of this role is responsibility for ensuring extant contracts are being delivered in line with the contractual requirement and in accordance with the baseline performance metrics.
A strong level of experience in negotiation and stakeholder engagement will be critical to be successful in this role.
Demonstrated experience in managing ASDEFCON contracts through the delivery phase including Review of contract deliverables is crucial as the successful candidate will be responsible for:
Developing, implementing, and maintaining the Contract Management Plan, including necessary tools, processes and/or systems
Monitoring and reporting the Contractor's performance against its contractual obligations - including on-time CDRL deliveries, and expediting as required
Assuring contract delivery aligns with Commonwealth and Defence Policy
Ensuring project representation at key contract meetings
Managing the Commonwealth's timely review of contract deliverables (CDRLs, milestone certification, invoices etc.), tracking and expediting as required.
Initiating Commonwealth Contract Change Proposals (CCPs) as required, and managing the Commonwealth's timely response to Contractor-initiated CCPs in accordance with the Contract.
Implementation and maintaining liability risk assessments and identify commercial risks and treatment methodologies.
Pro-actively monitoring and recording Contract-related issues to ensure these are swiftly resolved or escalated for resolution as needed.
Maintaining a log of formal correspondence, and ensuring it is dealt with in a timely manner.

Supporting resolution of contractual claims and disputes
Participating in contract workshops and forums as required
Representing the Government (CoA) act with Commonwealth interests and values.
This role will also be responsible for elements of procurement in line with appropriate procurement policies, capability requirements and best practice.
The candidate will ideally be able to demonstrate experience in:
Development of procurement plans, and significant input into the conduct of a continuous capability development and deployment paradigm
Ensuring contract requirements, align with Commonwealth and Defence Policy
Appropriate management of probity and procurement evaluation.
Risk Management of contracts including dentification, analysis, treatment strategies, monitoring and reporting of contract management risks.
The role will also be responsible for:
Providing Commercial advice and guidance to delegates and stakeholders;
Experience in the management of key stakeholder relationship and the ability to provide Commercial advice and guidance, specifically in relation to procurement and contract management.
To be successful in this role the following skills/knowledge are ideal:
Excellent Communication skills (both written and verbal);
Extensive knowledge of Commonwealth procurement regulations and policies such as the PGPA Act, procurement connected policies, Commonwealth Procurement Rules etc.;
Ability to work in a team and independently;
Experience in ASDEFCON suite of contracting templates or equivalent complex contracting documentation.
Previous experience in the CASG / Defence.
Qualifications
Formal contracting qualifications i.e. Certificate IV in Contracting and Procurement /or higher highly desirable
