EL2 Director Data Platforms contract role

The EL2 Director, Data Platforms is a senior leadership position within the Analytics, Data and Actuarial
Group and is primarily responsible for oversight, maintenance, development and success of the Agencys
Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), and will lead the design, development and operational management of
EDW and associated reporting and analytics platforms.
The Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) is a critical business system, enabling every NDIA Division and
multiple external stakeholders to be data driven. Supporting decisions from real-time operational through
to significant policies, the breadth, quality, reliability and timeliness of data in the EDW is of fundamental
importance to the efficient running and overall effectiveness of the NDIS.
The NDIAs data landscape is far from static, but continually evolving and growing, and there is always a
full pipeline of new development and enhancements projects. Many of these developments are in
collaboration with Data & Analytics colleagues with specific responsibilities for different internal and
external customers. Data Platforms team members are expected to work inside agile, muti-disciplinary
squads.
The Director, Data Platforms has authority and responsibility to set strategic direction, determine design
and delivery standards, manage risks and seek opportunities across a broad and often complex set of
priorities and multiple stakeholders.
The Director, Data Platforms must balance the need for high quality, timely daily operations, the delivery of
bespoke new developments for internal customers, solution consistency and efficiency as well as the
continued evolution of the platform and data capability as a whole.
