Change Manager Six Sigma

 Job Description:

Australian Citizens With NV1 Clearance residing in Australia only respond

Job: This proposal is for a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt analysis of the Engineering Change process across a number of SPOs, with a specific focus on problems and ideas raised by Ship's Staff. The core hypothesis here is that a feedback loop exists between the crew and their SPO whereby a prompt and decisive response by shore to a problem or idea from ship builds engagement, enhances the relationship, and drives capability.

Conversely, where Ship's Staff perceive that problems or ideas are ignored, this instead fosters apathy and discourages further reports and suggestions. This project will study the volumes of such requests being generated, how efficiently they are processed, and how successfully they are executed. Where outcomes are sub-optimal, analysis of causes will be undertaken. To achieve a relevant cross-section of the Maritime Sustainment community, participation by a ship and a shore representative across three distinct classes will be sought. Depending on findings, recommendations may be made on policy and other supporting structures to improve outcomes in future.
