Background of the role
LC4 Mod SPO is seeking a Configuration Manager (CM) (Officer) to assist with Engineering Support.
Specific Tasks for candidate's primary responsibility within LC4 Mod SPO:
Essential job criteria:
a. tailoring, implement and manage CM
b. advising the CCB on matters pertaining to CM and projects/SMs of CM transition requirements
c. administrative support, including scheduling and preparing agenda/minutes
d. registering and administering submitted ECPs and manage implementation of approved changes in association with SMs
e. continued amendment of active CM documents (and CMP)
f. oversight/monitor application of CM grading
g. managing CSA procedures
h. managing Configuration Audits
i. provide CM advise on and review CI selection
j. manage the SPO technical integrity registers
k. manage security of all CM and CSA data (CM tools use access permissions)
h. assist with the raising of ECPs
i. receive and register ECP ECPs, determine Class and either conduct JOS or assist
j. update ECP register as ECPs change status
k. close ECPs
l. audit SPO technical register
Experience/Skills Sought
As the successful candidate, you will possess the following skills:
a. Perform complex technical configuration activities and associated tasks working to agreed priorities and outcome.
b. Accountable for exercising assigned technical authorities and any Technical Regulatory Authority delegations.
c. Demonstrate and apply knowledge and experience to develop and review technical packages.
d. Apply technical knowledge and experience to identify risks and uncertainties and take these into account in planning, decision making and priority setting.
e. Build and sustain positive relationships with team members, actively participate in team work and motivate and mentor developing technicians.
f. Tailor communication style and language to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
g. Assess technical packages including scoping, planning and reviewing of packages and provide recommendations for consideration.
h. Assess technical packages, reports, processes and product and equipment performance to meet specified requirements, provide recommendations for continuous improvement and implement corrective actions.
i. Ensure safety aspects of Defence capability are considered and incorporated into technical configuration activities and tasks.
j. Manage technical knowledge of relevant processes, packages, product and equipment.
Essential qualification and experience requirement:
a. At least 3 years experience in Configuration Management
b. Experience in Auditing
c. Experience in conducting CCBs
d. Experience with both CMT-L (trained) and Objective
Preferable experience:
a Lead Auditor training
b. Objective preferably Work Group Coordinator
